Desiccant dehumidifiers are a core part of our service business and it’s good to be out looking after a new customer. This ML180 was found with no faults, but under performing due to its temporary/permanent flexible ducting. With flexible ducting there’s a strong possibility of reactivation air condensating in the wet air duct due to the ducting drooping to the floor and then back up, causing restricted airflow. This could ultimately cause the dehumidifier to trip on high temperature cut out.
Time was spent rebalancing the process and reactivation air to the manufacturer’s specification, however our recommendation going forward is to replace the flexible ducting with permanent rigid ducting.
A quote has now been provided for these remedial works and the customer is going to action them to ensure their dehumidifiers reliable operation.
